Fill-In Friday: Turn one reply into a reusable template

Ever type the same reply over and over, only to change a name, product, date, or tiny detail each time?

That’s where fill-ins can save the day! Instead of making a pile of almost-identical snippets, you can create one flexible snippet with fields you complete when you use it.

This week’s focus: building your first simple fill-in snippet.

Instead of typing an email from scratch each time:

You could turn it into a fill-in snippet with fields for:

  • Customer name
  • Health concern
  • App, browser, or device
  • First troubleshooting step
  • Your sign-off name

That way, the reply still feels personal, but you’re not rebuilding the whole sandwich every time.

To try it yourself, pick one message you send often, such as:

  • A troubleshooting reply
  • A meeting follow-up
  • An onboarding note
  • A billing clarification
  • A “thanks for reaching out” response

Start with just 2 or 3 fill-in fields. You don’t need to make it fancy right away.
