When I type in the abbreviation for a snippet, the snippet expands but the first character of the abbreviation remain (precedes) the expanded snippet. I am using TE on a Mac Mini M1. Thanks for any help.
Hi Jeffrey, is this happening in every app or only certain ones? We’re looking into a similar issue that affects Safari.
Josh, I have not tried it in all apps, but it appears to be limited to my email client, Canary Mail. This is occurring on my Mac mini M1 running macOS Sequoia 15.5.
I’m so glad someone else posted about this. The same thing is happening on my co-worker’s Windows PC. I haven’t asked whether it happens in every app, but I noticed it in her Outlook desktop app. I compared her settings to mine (I’m on a Mac), and they’re identical. I’m not sure what could be causing this.
Hi, the engineering team is looking into this!
Fantastic - thank you, @josh.centers! I’m happy to say that this is not happening on my personal machine. ![]()
If needed, I can try to get a screen recording from her computer (after I figure out how to do that on a PC) on Monday when she returns to the office.
Do you happen to know if she is using New Outlook or the original Outlook? Also, is it browser-based or a downloaded app she is working within?
Hi @ChristaH - I’m not sure whether it’s new or original - i’m not familiar with the old vs new Outlook UI. She’s using the desktop app. I can get a version and screenshot on Monday.
I can observe this error as well. It does not occur consistently, but only sometimes. I have not yet succeeded in reliably reproducing the error.
The first letter of the TE abbreviation remains in place, and the last letter of the inserted text is cut off.

I have seen this error as well, but more consistently, using Canary email on a Mac mini M4 running macOS Sequoia 15.5.
