Double Expansion in Firefox Print/Save as pdf

Is anyone else seeing this issue (or is it just me?). When I use the print option in Firefox to save a pdf of a page (Print… Save to PDF), the textexpander snippet that I enter to add the date to the name expands twice. Example: I enter “dd-” which should expand to the date in this format 08-03-25, but it shows up as 08-03-2508-03-25.

I already followed the suggestion from a similar topic that suggested maybe I have the textexpander extension for Firefox running simultaneously with the Mac desktop version, but I don’t have the Firefox extension turned on (if there is one.). Any ideas would be appreciated!

I’m in Mac OS Sequoia 15.2 and Firefox 141.0 (aarch64).

Hi, @KarenParolek, I just fired up Firefox to try this and I’m not seeing this behavior with my date Snippets. We also don’t have a browser extension that would work in Firefox.

Does your dd- Snippet exhibit this behavior in any other app or just Firefox?

Hi @josh.centers, as far as I can tell, it’s only in Firefox. I tried other app and other browsers, and none of them have the same issue. Thanks for checking in on this.

I also noticed that it double expands all snippets in the print to pdf window, not just “dd-”

Hi, @KarenParolek, thanks for the info. This specific dialog here?

Yep, that’s the one @josh.centers.

@josh.centers Thanks again for looking at this. Any ideas?

Hi Karen, apparently this is a known issue. I’ll let you know when we have a fix.

Thanks Josh! Have a great weekend!
