I’ve been having this issue for a while, and I wonder if anyone else is seeing it or just me. When I type “txp” to expand to TextExpander in Chrome, it does this weird double-expansion thing in the screenshot below.
I’m running the Mac desktop client (version 8.1) and the Chrome extension simultaneously (version 8.2.1).
It sounds like you might have installed the TextExpander app for your computer AND the TextExpander extension for Chrome.
In this case, I recommend removing one of the two. This will ensure that they do not conflict.
The app made for your computer (Mac/Windows) will expand in more places, so I recommend keeping this one if you plan to expand outside of Chrome.
You can uninstall the Chrome extension by going here:
First, click ‘Remove from Chrome’ and confirm. Then click ‘Add to Chrome’ and sign in. After you’ve signed back in, try reloading the page you’re working on.
