The original Text Expander was a great application, and while there are some advantages to a cloud-based solution, the functionality offered by the latest version, I am increasingly looking for alternatives due to lag. While the selling point of Text Expander is saving keystrokes, it has been shown that a response lag of over half a second disrupts operators’ train of thought, increasing data entry errors. At present, scripts that require a window to populate can take up to 3 seconds to load the window and a similar amount of time to expand the snippet. This breaks concentration, especially for someone like me who has ADHD. I am using a high-powered Mac Studio and an old mid-range MacBook Air. Both are taking the same time to resolve snippets, so I don’t think it has to do with hardware. My network speeds are high-speed broadband. So my question is, has anyone experienced similar problems and how did you resolve them?
