Hi Barbara, and welcome to the TextExpander Community page!
This sounds like you may be running into a conflict with Secure Input. We’re tracking some reports from other TextExpander users reporting similar behavior lately, and our team is investigating this trouble.
Secure Input is a macOS feature that protects sensitive information (like passwords, logins, other protected fields). While it’s active, TextExpander cannot expand Snippets. This is built into macOS, so TextExpander cannot disable it. With that said, I have some things to try that should clear up the trouble for you below.
Most effective fix:
Other steps to try if needed:
2. Check for password or verification prompts – Look for background windows or browser tabs asking for passwords, verification codes, or other sensitive info. Close or complete them to restore expansion.
3. Lock and unlock your Mac – If loginwindow is blocking expansion, lock your screen and unlock with your password (not Touch ID).
