Raycast v. TextExpander: How do you deal with app overlap?

I really liked this video by Paul Minors about using the best tool for the job. There’s a lot of app overlap with productivity tools, but choosing the impact drivers can be better than an all-in-one approach.

Some examples of this in my workflow: I use Grammarly (which has Snippets), but TextExpander’s are more robust and better for sharing. Calend.ly is way better at managing scheduling with external parties on any conferencing app than Google Calendar.

Would love to hear examples of how you’re managing app overlap in your workflow!

A tool that works in more places may be more valuable than one with more features. I started using TextExpander for things like email signatures and URLs since I could have them available on mac, windows, ipad, and the iphone whether I was using Safari, Firefox, Chrome, or various email clients. I don’t like subscriptions, but that is the main reason I continue to use TextExpander when there are free but limited alternatives available.
I use Alfred still, but had to wrestle with the overlap with Keyboard Maestro (KM). If I were to get a new mac, I would definitely use KM, but I’m not sure I really need Alfred with my workflow

I find that I naturally gravitate toward whichever tool does the needed function the best. When I used to use Keyboard Maestro, I ran it alongside TextExpander even though KM can also do Snippets. KM is a great tool, but creating text Snippets is awkward, and they don’t sync (or at least didn’t at the time).

I have what seems like a million apps for calendars on my devices, but I always gravitate toward the Google Calendar apps because I manage multiple Google calendars in one place.

Likewise with note apps. I have a bunch, but always default to Apple Notes because it’s there and it syncs well. But it’s not quite robust enough for larger projects, so I go to Notion for those. But Notion isn’t my default because it isn’t as easy.
