Thanksgiving plans?

Just for fun, what are your Thanksgiving plans? Any favorite recipes? We usually celebrate with our in-laws. One tradition I follow every year is cooking Alton Brown’s turkey and gravy. The gravy is my wife’s favorite.

Well, I shall have to check out this gravy - as a German-American, I often say my love language is sauce.

In our household, we celebrate with our nuclear family only, typically with a traditional spread - mashed potatoes, yams, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, brussels sprouts, stuffing, turkey and gravy, pumpkin pie, maybe another pie if I feel ambitious. My responsibilities are the pie, the yams, the green beans, the cranberries. The fruit/veg are because I am the only one who really loves them; the pie is my gift to my family. My husband is responsible for the mashed potatoes, the turkey and gravy, and the stuffing.

There will be puzzles and boardgames, and maybe a neighborly visit at some point.

Wishing you and all the TextExpander team a wonderful holday!

I go to a standing Friendsgiving (well, we sit, as per custom—it’s a fun group that’s been gathering for several years now).

I’m on a diet that excludes complex carbs, so I bring a bunch of my own sides to share, including my very fave stuffing recipe which I’ve adapted to be SCD-friendly (it’s probably even better with full-on carbs). Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate!

Sounds great, @MaguriteWeeks ! I am very much a traditionalist. I do the turkey, cranberry sauce, and gravy. This year, I’m also going to add a bit of venison as well.

@ColleenWainwright Keto Thanksgiving sounds rough, but that stuffing looks amazing!
