We start ours with colon. I also found that if you’re wanting to reference the snippet in documentation, put a space between the abbreviation and then go back and remove the space after typing it so it’s not triggering the snippet.

Can I use Text Expander for setting appointments in Google Calendar? I often have several events that only vary by date.

Rex’s example was awesome, but there is also a feature request in here to make adding a calendar invitation easy, a native integration to your calendar app. We have that on our list of feature requests for the future, Simon, and it’s really compelling.
