New Feature: Add Any Date to Your Snippets with Date Picker!

We’re excited to introduce the new Date Picker Fill-in in TextExpander 8.4!

With Date Picker, you can choose any date — past, present, or future — from a visual calendar and insert it right into your Snippet as it expands. No more flipping between apps or checking your calendar. It’s perfect for scheduling appointments, referencing deadlines, sending reminders, and so much more.

Date Picker helps you:

  • Stay in your workflow by skipping manual typing and calendar checks

  • Add accurate dates with a simple click

  • Reduce errors and maintain consistency with precise date formats

Date Picker starts rolling out today! You’ll find it in the Fill-in dropdown of the Snippet Editor in the newest Mac and Windows app (version 8.4+), as well as in the web app and Chrome Extension.

Update your Mac or Windows app to version 8.4 so you can pick dates the easy way. Here’s how:

  1. In the TextExpander desktop app, click Preferences in the left sidebar

  2. Choose Update from the menu options

  3. Click Check for Updates

  4. If available, click Install Update

  5. After installation, click Install and Relaunch

If you don’t see Date Picker yet, it will be added to your account soon. Let us know in the replies below how you’re going to use Date Picker!

I love this new “Date Picker” feature! I’m going to update an email Snippet we use for post-meeting follow-ups that reference our next meeting date, which we set during the first meeting.

(Side note - I just ran the update for version 8.4 and restarted the desktop app, on Mac, but I’m still not seeing the Date Picker option. I’ll wait patiently, for now! )

This is a great addition. So many ways to use this in my existing snippets. In particular the format option is neat.

Hey gang, everyone should now have access to the Date Picker! There was one organization that requested we delay the rollout, but otherwise you should have it.
