We’re excited to introduce Requests, a new way for teams to collaborate on Snippets and keep shared knowledge accurate and consistent. Requests lets team members suggest new Snippets or updates to existing ones. Suggestions route directly to the right editors, who can review and resolve everything inside TextExpander.
Why we built Requests
Snippet content isn’t static — pricing changes, policies evolve, messaging shifts, and teams grow. We’ve heard from customers that feedback often gets scattered across Slack threads, emails, and “oh we should update this” mentions in meetings. That makes it easy for important updates to get lost.
Requests closes that loop by giving your organization one central place for Snippet suggestions and discussions. With Requests:
-
Your Snippet library stays up-to-date
-
Teams use consistent language
-
Everyone feels empowered to improve shared content
-
Snippet editors and admins stay in control without becoming bottlenecks
How Requests works
For Organization members:
When a team member using Snippets daily spots something that needs attention — whether it’s outdated information, inconsistent phrasing, or a gap in your library — they can submit a request instantly. No more hunting down the right person or losing suggestions in email threads.
For Snippet editors:
Requests are sent directly to a designated editor (member with Can Edit or Can Manage permissions on the Snippet Group). They’ll get instant notifications, then can review, discuss, reply to, and resolve everything right in TextExpander.
Where to find Requests
Organization members can submit a request from the web app, desktop apps (v8.4+), or the Chrome Extension. Editors can track and manage all requests from Snippet Activity → Open Requests in the web app.
