Hi text expanding friends! I’m Maddy Osman, founder of The Blogsmith content agency, LinkedIn Learning instructor, and bestselling author.
But most importantly — mom to a little. So I need all the help I can get when it comes to getting a little more productivity out of my day, and TextExpander helps a lot with that.
Great to meet you all and I’d love to connect on LinkedIn.
Hi Everyone! Greg Walder here - I’m Chief Revenue Officer here @ TextExpander which covers all of our customers teams from Customer Support, Account Management, to Sales! I joined a little over a year ago in September 2023 after being introduced to TextExpander back in 2011 when I used it heavily at Dropbox!
Looking forward to learning all of of you on how you’re using TextExpander!
Hey there! I’ve been using Text Expander for the last 6 years and I love it.
I’m ~5 years into building Puzzle (https://puzzleapp.io/) as the Founder & CEO — helping ops teams diagram and visualize their complex processes & systems.
I’ve always had a passion for where organizational design meets operational efficiency — I love finding new ways to get teams working together with the big (operational) picture in mind.
How I can help: I’m happy to share my knowledge on all things ops tools — no-code automation, AI sales tools, CRM, you name it (the SaaS category). I’ve vetted, configured, and implemented hundreds of them and happy to share insights on best-in-class tools.
I’m based in St Petersburg, FL, but more often working remote from everywhere but there
Happy to be part of such a polished group of operators!
Welcome to the community! Just had to pop in and geek about St. Pete! I went to high school at Seminole High and still have family living there. Super small world, haha!
I’ve been a HUGE TextExpander fan since about 2013 when I heard about it on the Mac Power Users podcast. I use it dozens of times a day and love getting the usage reports emailed to me every week.
My name is Helmut Hauser, and I am a Professor of Soft Robotics and Morphological Computation at the University of Bristol (UK).
However, I am also very passionate about productivity (especially in the academic context), and I blog regularly on my webpage http://www.worksmartandberemarkable.com.
Looking forward to connecting with people and sharing exciting ways to use TextExpander to make life easier.
I’m Tonya Engst. In a previous chapter of my life, I edited several editions of “Take Control of TextExpander,” an ebook previously published by TidBITS Publishing. Currently, I’m employed full-time at Cornell University and I edit text for websites, PowerPoints, and PDFs that is written by academics but meant to be read by regular people. I also do a lot of collaborating with designers and web developers so that the text looks and behaves as it should when it is published.
I’m not a fancy TextExpander user, but I use it every day to type repetitive text, and I especially love it when I’m collaborating over Zoom and my colleagues can see the text expanding as we go.
I’m Paul. I’ve been a user since the Textpander days. For kicks, I just looked at my 2024 stats and saw that on a single day in November I expanded 116 snippets.
I’m curious: how are nested snippets counted in these stats?
I work for a DJ company and life would be hell if I did not have TextExpander as one of my primary tools.
Hello everyone! My name is Kyle, and you can usually find me somewhere on the internet as macfixer. I am an IT professional, and have been using TextExpander 3, which puts it somewhere around 2011. What a ride!
Hi, I’m Alex and I’m a freelancer project manager. I first started using TextExpander in 2020 after going full-time freelance, and I use it often. I came to this community primarily to share my knowledge.
If I could only bring one item with me to a desert island, it would be a knife.
My hobbies include home automation, hiking, and coffee.
Thanks for the welcome, Josh. If nested snippets counted, my total number would !
When I took over doing sales for the DJ company, when an inquiry came in, the owner would copy and paste a previous email he’s sent and then edit it for the new inquiry. Such a tedious and manual process. What’s ironic was at the time his full-time job was as an automation software engineer at Apple.
As an existing TextExpander user, I created snippets for as many things as I could. Doing this also allowed me to create variants and nested snippets to customize the responses based on things like the venue and day of the week. And some things which can’t be done just with text replacements use applescript or shell scripts.
