Thanks for the welcome, Josh. If nested snippets counted, my total number would :rocket:!

When I took over doing sales for the DJ company, when an inquiry came in, the owner would copy and paste a previous email he’s sent and then edit it for the new inquiry. Such a tedious and manual process. What’s ironic was at the time his full-time job was as an automation software engineer at Apple.

As an existing TextExpander user, I created snippets for as many things as I could. Doing this also allowed me to create variants and nested snippets to customize the responses based on things like the venue and day of the week. And some things which can’t be done just with text replacements use applescript or shell scripts.

I can’t imagine not using TextExpander.

Haha, so true! Perhaps I should change it?

Hello TextExpander Community!

I am Adrienne and I’ve been a TextExpander enthusiast for about six years now. After a 10-month stint at a company that didn’t use TextExpander, I decided in any future interviews I may ask if they use TE and if not I may reconsider the offer. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’m passionate about using TextExpander to streamline processes and boost efficiency. In my current role, I also develop TextExpander templates for our team. I love helping my teammates work smarter and maintain consistent communication, and it’s incredibly rewarding to hear they’re saving 4-6 hours each week. My personal goal is to save 8 hours weekly, but I haven’t been able to break the 7-hour mark just yet.

I am happy to be here and looking forward to learning so much more about TextExpander!

Outside of work I am an avid concert goer, I love Moab Utah, making homemade bagels and watching great stand up that makes you snort laugh.

Hi all! I’m Sam. I work at a small healthcare office doing mostly admin stuff—lots of emails, scheduling patients, that kind of thing. A coworker recommended TextExpander to save some time, but honestly, I’m not exactly a tech wizard. Still figuring things out, so if I ask something that seems obvious, please bear with me. Really looking forward to learning from you all and maybe getting better at this!

Hi everyone!
I’m Scott, one of the developers here at TextExpander.

I love how much time TextExpander saves me when I’m trying to remember random database queries, code snippets, test email addresses (I enter over and over and over again when building new features), you name it!

I’m looking forward to learning all of the other awesome ways folks are using TextExpander and see what tips and tricks I can add to my toolkit

Hey there. Thanks for the invitation! I’m Gene.

I’ve used TextExpander since May 30, 2009. What a wonderful tool!

When I first graduated from high school, I thought I wanted to be a medical doctor. I was doing OK in college until my junior year, when I realized that I didn’t have the dedication to stay in school two more years, then however many years in medical school. So, I dropped out of school and started selling hi-fi stereo equipment. I’d been interested in that since high school. I eventually bought into an existing hi-fii stereo store. I was there for about 5 years, then I realized that wasn’t me either.

Personal computers were becoming possible. I really liked that, so I went back to school to get my degree in computer science. While in school, I worked part time at a company that developed SCADA and energy management systems, then for Rockwell in Cedar Rapids, IA, while the GPS system was being developed.

After getting my degree, I worked for E-Systems iin the DFW area. It required a security clearance, so I can’t tell you what I worked on there.

Next I worked for a telecom company that was one of the major developers for class 4 switches. I worked on a project developing a cellular telephone switch. Cell phones were really starting to become popular.

Around 2000, the telecom market collapsed and I got a job with a company that designed software for printing preses - to automate color correction and alignment.

Around 2015, my fiancée had a heart attack and was then bed bound. I became her at-home nurse. Her condition got worse when she had an eye stroke in August, 2024. She is now in a nursing home, so I’m looking for a job again.

If I could only bring one item with me to a desert island, it would be a bottle, with Jeannie inside. I can’t believe no one else thought of this. Maybe the show was before your time.

Using TextExpander saves so much time. I wouldn’t want to be without it. I’m glad to be here and am looking forward to exchanges with you.

Hello! I’m a digital marketing professional of 10 years. I’ve used TextExpander for roughly 5 years now for naming conventions, code snippets, brand-specific hex codes, email addresses, URLs, and timestamps.

I work for a marketing agency out of TN that works with large legacy brands, and also have my own part-time side agency in SC focused on small business growth. I’m an automation and optimization junkie. I regularly use AI and would love to integrate prompting and TextExpander more this year.

Shoot me a message if you want to chat about business or marketing!

Hey Hey! My name is Carrie and I’m an Information Security Analyst from the Kansas City area. Our team has a yearly competition on who can use the most snippets every year. Usually it’s me against our CISO. I’m hoping to win this year!

Welcome, @CarrieBolton! Would you be willing to create a topic with more information on your Snippet competition? We need to implement something like that ourselves!

I’m not sure if it would need a side topic but I can if you’d like! We receive the TextExpander Stats email and compare who used the most! Last year for 2024, I expanded 1,560 snippets! Our CISO was at almost 2k! I have been LIVING out of textexpander this year to try and beat him haha!

I so appreciate the fill-in and optional section. We do daily logs that keeps our responses to those logs uniform as a team. If I don’t win this year, I’m going to question whether our CISO is a robot or not! haha!

Hello everyone!

My name is Amy, and I am a customer support professional. I was introduced to TextExpander in 2019.

While I am no longer front-line support, I am adamant that TextExpander needs to be in the toolbox of every support team. I helped introduce TextExpander to my current team, and everyone is loving it.

I’m excited to be a part of this community and learn some new tips and tricks. Hopefully, I can also share some tips and tricks from my amazing team to help others too!
