Hey there! I’m David H. Lawrence XVII, and I’m an actor and VO coach in Los Angeles, specializing in audiobook narration. I also have a couple of apps that actors and voice over talent use in their professional lives (Rehearsal® Pro and AudioCupcake). I have a little over 100k active users, and could not keep things manageable without TE.
I started using TextExpander back in the late 1700’s, when it would help me with quicker quill pen work on the parchment we were all using in those days.
At least it seems like that long.
I don’t actually know when I started, but I switched from TypeIt4Me, which was OK, but TE has been growing right along with my career and business. When the cross-OS sharing/syncing of snippets came into being, I was so happy I made that choice.
I use it for a lot of things, but among the most useful is the beautiful way I can respond to tech support tickets (I’m a one-man band but most people think I have a deep team of CSRs) with complete, cogent and actionable solutions to the issues my clients and users face using my apps and websites. I always love when users respond with “Wow, that was fast.” and I get them on their way.
Looking forward to seeing what others are doing and sharing the ways I’ve found to make TE even more useful.
Hello! My name is Bryan Thompson. I am Irish & British, aged 68, houseless, but Not Quite Homeless, currently living in (visiting) Hawai’i and heading soon to PNG (Papua New Guinea). I have been a Mac user since 2003 and have been using TextExpander for years—but no idea how long! I love the app and am always eager to learn more tips and tricks on how to best use it.
Yep, that’s some of my work. I use TextExpander to help compose typical progress messages to clients during the audiobook narration production process (and, sometimes, to politely decline work that I’ve been offered - those that I can’t contract with all get a gentle “I wish I could,” get redirected to search for another narrator and best wishes for their project, all with a simple 5-character snippet).
Hi all, I am Peter, based in the Netherlands. I am the executive Director of Dscoop, a global community of print professionals. Working with a remote global team and members in more than 100 countries. Communication is a big part of my day. Textexpander has been a crucial tool in my daily work.
I was honoured to be interviewed as a Textexpander Champion a few years back!
I’m a big fan of Textexpander and I am looking forward to learn more from other users.
Hi, I’m Jim and I’ve been using TextExpander since 2010. I’m a graduate faculty member in a PhD program in Higher Education (as a field of study) and I use TE regularly for commenting on student papers and dissertations, as well as snippets for writing papers and email messages.
Hi everyone, I’m Margurite (e prounounced as an a so it sounds like margarita, the drink). In my most important life, I’m a mom to two beautiful kids age 7 and 1. When I’m not hanging with my family and dogs, you can find me reading a book, folding never-ending laundry, or experimenting with AI.
I’ve been using Text Expander since 2015 and find it to be one of the integral apps used by my teams. Like others, I was guided here by Mac Power Users, though I am ambi-computered and mainly use PC for work anymore. I love pouring the Text Expander kool-aid for anyone who will listen and am always on the hunt for efficiency and consistency in my professional pursuits. I work in the legal industry as senior director of legal operations for my various teams.
I am loving seeing the names of Text Expander team members who I’ve connected with over the years, and am excited to be a part of this community to learn and expand (ha ha) my Text Expander acumen!
Hi everyone! I’m Rishi Gangoly from Mumbai — your friendly neighborhood evangelist for TextExpander in India.
I teach business owners, sales pros, and serial texters why TextExpander is basically the secret sauce they didn’t know they needed. Most of my clients fall in love with it once they realize they can send price lists, FAQs, or “please find attached” without typing it out for the 117th time — especially on WhatsApp, while juggling a coffee, a call, and a client.
If TextExpander had a Bollywood cameo, I’d probably be the guy doing the voiceover.
Looking forward to learning and sharing more with this awesome community!
Hi, I am Anuja. A physician and human. Love to use textexpander for time saving documentation of my medical notes. Looking forward to the collective intelligence to grow with.
I’m Todd—a longtime TextExpander fan and daily user. I run a consulting and fractional strategy practice focused on community building and digital workplaces. TextExpander has been one of those behind-the-scenes tools that quietly powers a lot of my work (and saves me from repetitive typing… and myself).
When I’m not geeking out on workflows or community strategy, I’m probably deep in a good book or overthinking my next D&D campaign.
Looking forward to being part of this space and learning from everyone here. If you ever want to connect or talk community, I’m over at linkedin.com/in/tnilson.
This is your space to ask questions, find support, and share ideas with fellow TextExpander users and our product team. As a first step, take a moment to introduce yourself to the community.
