What mouse do you use for work?

I’ve been using a Logitech Lift vertical mouse for about three years now and honestly can’t imagine going back to a traditional mouse. It took some getting used to, but it has completely eliminated the wrist and forearm pain I was getting from long days at the desk.

But I know there’s a huge range out there. Ergonomic mice, vertical mice, trackballs, the Apple Magic Mouse (love it or hate it). Some people swear by gaming mice for work because of the extra buttons.

So what’s on your desk right now?

A few things I’m curious about:

  • What mouse are you using and how long have you had it?
  • Wireless or wired?
  • Have you tried a vertical or ergonomic mouse? Worth it?
  • Anyone using a trackball or trackpad instead?
  • If you could change one thing about your current mouse, what would it be?

Drop your recommendations. Bonus points if you’ve tried a few and can say what made you switch.

More tham 15 years ago when working on the job and..on my computer all day, i started getting carpal tunnel symptoms, so i told my chiropractor, whom i have been going to once a week since 2007 for maintenance adjustments, and he adjusted my wrists and over several weeks worked it out and i haven’t had any symptoms since. He does a wrist adjustment maybe a few times a year since…

I’ve used both wireless and wired over the years. I like wireless if i undock my laptop to use somewhere else.

Unfortunately newer MacBooks have fewer ports. I tried a wired mouse with USB-C plugged into my new dock that allows 3 external monitors, only using two + laptop screen, but the cursor kept jumping all over the place. Too cheap i guess.

Ditto! I started using the vertical wireless mouse 6+ months ago, and since I got used to it I like it. I previously used the Mac mouse and was feeling something in the back of my hand - not pain, but it started to worry me! I rarely meet a trackpad that I like, so I always want to have a mouse.

I didn’t realize we had so many vertical mouse stans! Guess there’s a lot of overlap between TextExpander and vertical mice!
