Did you know you can run TextExpander in a different language than the rest of your Mac? Whether you’re testing localized snippets, brushing up on another language, or just vibing with your multilingual side — macOS makes it easy to set a specific app to a different language.
Here’s how to do it:
- Open System Settings .
- Go to General > Language & Region .
- Scroll to the bottom and look for the Applications section.
- Click the + button.
- Select TextExpander from your list of apps.
- Choose your preferred language from the dropdown.
- Restart TextExpander and boom
— it’ll launch in your chosen language!
I’ve set mine to French just for fun — and I gotta say, les raccourcis n’ont jamais été aussi chics!
Pro Tip: This works with most apps that support multiple languages — but it’s especially handy for tools like TextExpander where you’re working with text and want to see how it behaves in different locales.
Let me know if you give it a try or want help setting it up!
