Hyperlinks not working on mail on my phone but OK on my Mac

Hi

Ive been using text expander for some time and it’s brilliant but I have recently tried to use it on my phone as well.

Ive created hyperlinks in snippets for years and sent them via outlook and apple mail in emails and they work fine.

However when I use outlook and apple mail on my phone using the same snippet the hyperlink does not work?

Why would in work on my Mac and not on my phone?

Any ideas?

I believe you need to use the text expander keyboard on the iphone and ipad.

Thanks for the reply and I’ve used the keyboard and the snippet works.

However when I send the email on the iPhone the recipient cannot open the hyperlink but all the rest of the snippet is OK.

I have the same behaviour on iOS. A snippet with a hyperlink resolves as intended on my Mac, but on iOS the hyperlink is stripped (i.e. the text is there, but there is no hyperlink ‘behind’).

Exactly the same problem but have you resolved it yet

If you are asking me, it is not something I can resolve. It is either a bug or an unimplemented feature in the iOS version.

There is a workaround, though, which is to write the hyperlink in clear text, e.g.
https://textexpander.com” [without the quotes in your snippet].

Hey Dave, unfortunately this is a limitation of TextExpander on iOS and iPadOS, it only expands in plain text.

Hi

Many thanks for the clarification but is there anyway there is an alternative way of getting the website link to work using a snippet.
